Dr. Oughton teaches courses in the Religions of the World at Saint Louis University. His interdisciplinary doctorate broke new ground in the study of the Philosophies and Theologies of Peace and Justice. He has taught over 400 courses in philosophy, comparative religions, peace studies, world federalism, and Holocaust and genocide studies. He has written a textbook on “Jewish-Christian Relations in Light of the Holocaust.”
Dr. Oughton founded St. Louis’s Dialogue Group of the World’s Religions and Philosophies. He has organized many interfaith meetings and events during the past 40 years. He is a board member of Interfaith Partnership of St. Louis, the St. Louis Holocaust Museum, Living Insights Center, and Citizens for Global Solutions. For all of these efforts, we want to honor him tonight.
