You may remember the much publicized, white racist murder that haunted our nation last year, when last year, on June 17th, of 9 Black parishioners as they prayed in church in Charleston, South Carolina.
Fewer may recall that in the next week, 8 other African American Christian churches were burned across the South. June 17 happened to be the first day of the Muslim month of Ramadan. In the face of cowardly intimidation, Faatimah and her Muslim colleagues launched a Ramadan campaign, Rebuild with Love and successfully raised $104,000 to help rebuild the churches and raise awareness. And her work continues.
